North Country Trail

The North Country National Scenic Trail is the longest of America’s National Scenic Trails.  It stretches over 4,600 miles across the northern tier of states.  The trail connects Crown Point, New York to Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.  More than 260 miles of the North Country Trail cut across northwest Pennsylvania, 96 miles of which are located in the Allegheny National Forest.  The northern end of the Pennsylvania section crosses into New York along the beautiful shores of the Allegheny Reservoir.

I created this map with GPS data from the North Country Trail Association and the help of GPS Visualizer.  The blue sections are certified trail sections and the red sections are proposed or temporary routes for the trail.  In the future I will provide map data that I have collected myself.

I have also compiled this data into a KML file for use in Google Earth:  NCT-PA.kml
